DIY: Rear Camber Adjustment $10!!!

Post by SlowOne.5 »

Most of you know I've been eating through tires roughly every 4months. I'm lowered on Tein Basic Coilovers, and come to find out, everything on the car is correct.

THIS IS MY CAMBER BEFORE TONIGHT. I FORGOT TO TAKE BEFORE/AFTER PIX AND A NEW ALIGNMENT WILL BE DONE SOON.

CAMBER LF -2.3
TOE LF .08

CAMBER RF -2.4
TOE RF .03

CAMBER LR -4.3
TOE LR .36

CAMBER RF -4.5
TOE RR .13

I had to use 3 washers, 4 if I put the car all the way down. Only pic I have is when the car was on 17s. Once the weather clears up I'll take new pix.

FYI: Fastenal in Chesterfield was the ONLY place in West County to carry metric bolts in m10 1.25x40mm 8.8.

Thank you to those who helped, you know who you are!

i imagine if you zero out your toe it would help a lot with your tire wear issues. either way, this is a nice diy to reduce rear neg camber. good stuff!

Nice! I've been debating doing the washer trick, my camber is kinda nasty. I'm gonna have to give this a try.

that is after 3 alignments. we can't get it correct. and no room for a camber kit so i resulted to this. happy so far, although i may add 1 or 2 more seeing i can drop it almost another inch still and i'm down 3 already.

oh wow. is there any reason why you can't get it correct? worn or damaged parts?

everything is fine. ask joe(civicex442)--one of his techs at his shop did them for me and the guy insists he can't get it anymore correct. it was waaaaaaaaaay worse..i'll take this over what i had.

Those alignment numbers look decent... shouldn't be causing excessive tire wear. Can you post pics of the worn tires?
