What Drag Radials should I use??
I was just wondering, for future reference, lets say I wanted to get some diff wheels and put some drag radials on them and take my 90 hatch to the strip and run it. My plans are a b16 and turbo pushing some low bost like 5 or 6 psi. The wheels and tires would be just for fun and occasional drag use. My car is lowered about 1.5 inches with springs. What wheel size would be good for the tire, should I go smaller than what I have now which are 16in wheels?? Also what tire size should I use on the wheel and what width as well? Thanks for the help.

they dont make 16" dr's...
get a 15" wheel and 225/50/15 mickey thompson et street radials. (import tread pattern)
ive tried every dr out there! and mt's hook up the best and last way longer than all the others.

i would DEFFANTLY would not get the mt et street II they suck i had a set last me less than 3000 miles!!! and they do make a 16in dr but, mike is right dont go with anything bigger than a 15in wheel and M&H has the best dr out in my openion 235/60/15.

If you only drive straight, they MIGHT fit but that's a big ass tire. It's about 3" taller than a 205/50/15!!! I'd stick with 205/50 like Mike and others have said. As for "lasting" they are not 40,000 mile tires. If you DD MT DR's, they will not last. That is because they are SOFT. DO NOT DD them if you are not made of money (unless you barely drive the car...).
I also vote for the MT's. Nitto and BFG just don't seem to be able to hook to save their life...

if you mean the import et streets then youre stupid. you must have some crazy ass power or gearing like a type r trans because 235/60/15's are 26" TALL. 225/50/15 which i said are 24" tall.96civic cr-v;218459 wrote:i would DEFFANTLY would not get the mt et street II they suck i had a set last me less than 3000 miles!!! and they do make a 16in dr but, mike is right dont go with anything bigger than a 15in wheel and M&H has the best dr out in my openion 235/60/15.

well i said 225/50 's... 205 too small. 3000 out of dr's on my car is pretty good with me. so far im still on the same et streets as last summer. all the other dr's ive tried lasted MAYBE 1000 miles and i hardly ever do burnouts except going hwy speeds cuz they suck at traction lol.. the mt's do not so therefor they are lasting much longer.RyanA;218465 wrote:If you only drive straight, they MIGHT fit but that's a big ass tire. i had the 225/50/15 hoosier dr's. the ones with 2 lines in them. they hooked great the first 2 passes on the street with them. after that THEY SUUUUCKED!

well before you go all ballsy on some DR's you might want to turn the boost up more than 5-6psi..at least 8-10psi. That is fine dd too on a stock b16. Thats what im doing right now.
