How important is the geometry of a sway bar

Post by Waffles »

How important is it for a sway bar/end links to be at a specific geometry? In the swap i am going, I need to move the D-brackets/mounts forward about an inch. This will move the endlinks from being at 90* to about 100* - 110*. Will it cause an issue?

i believe it would bind causing alot of stress on the endlink and break. are we talking about a straight endlink or a 90 degree bend endlink? anywho who says you cant weld a plate on the lower control arm that moves the mounting location up a bit?

its a strait end link that comes off the bar a 90*. I would not need to weld in a plate and the LCA is large and flat. I can just drill an new hole for the LCA to bolt to.

Not really. I will try and get a pic of waht I am talking about soon. Basically the D bracket that holds the sway bar to the sub frame needs to move forward about an inch. So the end links coming off the end would tilt forward to the sway bar rather than 90*. My end links arent quite like a hondas, they have the ability to pivot on an axis at both ends.
