Why worry about taking the bolt out of the RLCA? Just drop the strut and RLCA together.

From personal experiance, I'd pass on the BLOX RLCAs. Get something with a poly bushing like Skunk2s, which are great quality for the money.

Angle grinder will most likely be romoving the old LCAs and stupid ass rusty trumbone suspention bolts. I need to take this spring compressor back before the start charging me! Anywho i may end up going with the AGX's i think i found a decent price. Really looking forward to getting it done tho. It looks like i'm trying to put slicks on the back with this rake I currently have. Then its body work time.

well if the bolt head just straight snapped off, then how the hell are you gonna get the strut off that LCA bolt... that was my problem. tthey were stuck, and still are sitting outside i can even take picss!!

but anyways hes looking to get new struts, for a better smoother ride.

ive never looked into AGX before. i'd take josh's opinion over alot of peoples though. anyday.

Why did you get a spring compressor? Like I said before, leave the sturt and RLCA together (Unless you have ABS), take out the outer and inner RLCA bolts. If those get stuck and the heads break off do this...

If its the inner one on the subframe, there should be a welded nut on the opposite side of the bolt head (towards the front of the car) that is spot welded. It should be a 17mm or a 19mm. Put a socket on it and break it off. If the rest of the bolt doesn't come out, knock it out with a hammer. Upon reinstallation, replace the nut on the back side (No need for it to be spot welded back on) and tighten it down. Just like you would with the front forks.

If its the outer one on the trailing arm, grind down the three or four spot welds on the nut on the opposite side of the bolt head. Then knock the rest of the bolt out with a hammer. Again, replace the nut you broke off with another one and reinstall it. Much like the front forks.

AGXs are good struts. Do work.

The only reason why you would need to separate the strut from the RLCA when replacing the struts and LCAs is to get the ABS line out. Remove the two 14mm nuts in the car on the top hat and the two 14mm bolts on the outer and inner side of the RLCA and the whole strut assemble and RLCA come out.

usually the Trailing arm side bolt is the one that gets stuck, and like rob said if the strut bolt is siezed, drop the entire assembally and replace everything.

I second the passing of Blox LCA's, their bushings are so soft you can hear the actual control arm knock on the bolt that runs through it lol, however i have also had bushing problems with Skunk2 LCA's, not my first set, but my second set the poly bushings crumbled for some reason

I used the compressor on the front two springs. I used the stock struts on the fronts before knowing how bouncy it would be. those will be coming off for the AGX's.

In regard to the spot welds/removal/install: Great advice! Its appreciated.

I've had 2 sets of agx shocks with about 2.25 lowering all around. I have had at least 2 leak and somewhat fail on me. They are not meant for a decent drop. Also the adjustment had a on/off feel of firmness. I believe kyb has a warranty that will be void if you lower the car more than ~1-1.5 inches. Can they tell if you ride that low or not? I don't know....it would be your word against theirs if any warranty issues came up.

I now have koni yellows....they have a lifetime warranty and can be rebuilt by "reputable" koni dealers. They are not much more expensive than the agx shocks. I bought mine for $120 shipped per shock. I can feel a difference from just a quarter turn on the shock.

And on the lower control arms....or anything really....I would stay away from most poly bushings. They are maintenance items. I would just replace with new oem bushings. They also have available spherical bushings and hardened rubber bushings to replace your worn bushings.

Thanks for your input! Where'd you find them for 120 shipped?
