93 Civic 2 Door

Riding down I-70 just five minutes ago. What I thought was the sound of me hitting bumps was actually a wild noise coming from the front of the car. It sounds like I keep hitting a cow, cause there is this thumping noise that just keeps on getting louder and faster as a speed up. It really gets loud when I turn left, and only does it a little bit when I turn right...

Question...is my axle dead....and if so how much will 2 run me as I might as well replace both....

Any help is greatly appreciated...

or take it to a midas or something for their "free" inspection.
be friendly and chat with them, most places will let you see what they are talking about...

or even better, if you know nothing about cars, take it to dobbs and have it "fixed" for life :wink2:

1st of all.........................YOU DO NOT DRIVE A FUCKING HONDA!!!!!!!!!

2nd........that is completely the wrong information. Do some damn research. Jack the car up so the tire is about 3-4 inches off the ground. With the steering wheel locked (keys out) try turning the tire. If you can feel any play in it then the tie-rod end is worn and needs replaced.

Put a bar or tire iron or piece of wood...ect.... under the tire. try to lift up. if there is any noticable play check the upper and lower ball joint.

Chances are by the sound of it your axle either broke or will very soon.
