Brake upgrade questions!

Post by jdmjerry07 »

What are good rotors and calipers to buy for extended track use that are durable etc?
Also consider I have 15s so I cant go over 10inchs from what I have read. What is the best route for me to go? I want to upgrade all braking system components lines pads calipers rotors etc, that will be track used and worked hard but that will fit my 15s.
comments from people who have done this already or track there cars would be awesome!

for cheapish just upgrade your pads and rotors. be warned that most aftermarket performance pads will create a lot of brake dust. spend the money and upgrade to ITR brakes.

Get good brake pads you wont create as much brake dust. I have EBC greens and i don't have insane amounts of brake dust.

OP:
Get some slotted rotors or OEM spec blanks from brembo. If you do get slotted rotors, DO NOT get ones that have slots that go all the way to the end of the disc. That is an incorrect slotted rotor and can cause MAJOR damage later down the road. Unless you're making ungoddly amounts of power you wont need big brake kits or anything around that. When you say track are you referring to 1/4 or time attack?

those are just covers, the other ones are actual monoblock calipers. Huge difference

Talk to Jeff (irevto9k) He does time attack with the S2K, he would be able to help out a lot.
