How to Slam a Honda Cheap

Post by sn95guy »

ok my friend used to have a 91 hatch, well it was slammed and still is. i just picked up a 92 hatch with goldline lowering springs and 17 inch wheels. i think the car sits to high and i really loved the bouncy ride of his. this one feels stock but stiffer. anyone know if smaller wheels and tires will get it low? i dont know anything about goldline springs eaither. and can i adjust my upper front and rear strut tower braces to make it handle better? its got both aftermarket. and the last question does a lower strut brace do alot? thats all my the 91 hatch had

that "bouncy" ride is improper lowering of the car. I don't understand how you like the feel of a bouncy ride. Go with full coilovers not sleevovers. your stock struts weren't made to handle being lowered. give them a couple of months and watch your struts blow.

as long as you have good bumpstops, you really don't need springs at all. Just take them off.

of course it was a joke.

it's about as funny as slammed cars, bouncy rides, cut coils on blown struts, etc...

lol... Sorry, I was in a mood yesterday.

In all seriousness for the topic creator: The bouncy ride you felt = blown struts. Your car shouldn't be bouncing at all. If you are going kinda fast on an on-ramp or a curve, then hit a dip, uneven pavement, good size bumps, or whatever, you'll bounce your ass right into the ditch... or into oncoming traffic and kill a grandma.

Take riskytypes advice and look into getting a full coilover setup. The springs and dampers will be properly matched to one another, and your car will actually handle well. Another option would be to get something like H&R Race springs (or something similar) and pair them with QUALITY struts like AGX, Illuminas, or Koni. If you dump your car on cheap struts, you will blow the struts really fast and risk bouncing yourself into a wreck.
