OBD1 Code 17 VSS
Okay so my car has had this problem for a few years now, and I thought that it was my old P30. it throws the code with the p30 but not with my P2P. I bought another P30 and put it in the car, same problem. any ideas? Its a 96 civic with a B16 running OBD1. I'm starting to think it might be a problem with my conversion harness. the speedometer works fine. but appearantly there is a problem with the ECU getting a reading to it. anyone else ever have this problem, heard of it? know a fix? I'm pretty desperate.

Okay I will check that out. There was a time when the car ran perfect on the P30. Then I had to fix a connector and since then the P30 wont read the VSS, but my OBD2 P2P will.
