jdm ecu's are square shaped with square shaped chips. usdm ecu's and rectangular shaped with rectangle shaped chips.

you can buy a p28, p75, p72 ecu and get it chipped with a basemap to fit your build.

so i have a p75 that i already have chipped and tuned for a LS turbo app. i was always under the impression that p75s can not be used on vtec motors period.
(until i found some ppl talking about how you can change a p06 into a p28 for vtec and the same thing can be done to p75s)

i am about to buy a prelude and would like to throw the p75 in and play with the stock map of the Hseries...since i have my ecu chip/socketed can i do this or is the "vtec chip" a separate chipping process that i would still have to have done.

a chipped ecu alone will not let you run a vtec map, it has to be converted
i may not be "logical" but at least i can change my oil...

it all depends on what board you have in your ecu all thats realy required is to add a high side switch a transistor and some capacitors nothing to complicated. but the p75 is more then capable
turbo lag psh? boost is only a down shift away
