Intake Manifolds and throttle body

Post by Strativarious212 »

Hello every one I have a 02 type s and so far 2 of the 3 basic starters short ram k&n typhoon and a Greedy SE catback. I am looking to go turbo in the future. As for now I wanna do some reaserch into intake manifolds and throttle bodys. My question is this... What company offer these two items and what has the best results. I am currently saveing for the kpro programmable ecu.

Oh another thing I wanna know if any here has turboed a type s and if you had to tilt the engine forward to fit it?

use an RBC manifold from a new civic si. get a "race" header that deletes your cat. some form of aftermarket motor mounts so your header doesnt crack. then install cams when you install your KPRO.

If you are going boost then why would you buy race headers? That is a waste of money. If you don't have K-pro DO NOT buy the RBC, it will do absolutely nothing for your car, you will lose power. Unless you have K-pro, I wouldn't even touch the RBC until you do.

Best intake manifold is the k20z3 RBC, which was stated. Your stock TB is enough and if you even go any bigger you wont be doing anything. If you do get the RBC for later use (once you have Kpro) you will need the karcepts adapter. As i previously stated tho, you need to have Kpro first before you can actually use the RBC.

If you are going boost, getting cams are a complete waste of money as well (unless you get cams made for boost.)

No you don't have to tilt the engine forward to fit the turbo in, everything fits just fine. Best turbo manifold is full race.
If you want your car to be cheap and fast it wont be reliable... If you want your car to be reliable and cheap it wont be fast... If you want your car to be fast and reliable it wont be cheap...

Very well put! But just do with a cold air, cat back and race header for now unless you are wanting to go boost. If that is the case just buy k-pro until you have enough money for boost.

ok well atm i am saveing up for kpro. K pro has been on my list of things to get for some time. I just hate the fact that I would be without a car for a few days to get it. Anyone know the best place to go through for the buck? Also to add to the questions asked: Yes I am planing on going turbo.

So dont ship your ecu in and buy a used one off of clubrsx.com You'll get a good deal on there anyways, but as far as turbo which kit are you going with??
