man down! s300?

Post by Clayton »

fuck i hate my carand if you know me you know how i stress out about it, i fired up the car first time since the type r expo really let her warm up and it was purring like a kitten. went to get off my street and it started idleing at 4 grand wtf shut it off checked the linkage to the throttle body, iacv, and for vacuum leaks no faults were found. started it up and hmmm idleing perfect again wtf hit the gas and doesnt want to idle down stays at 3 grand. but the throttle plate is closed and if i unplug the iacv the idle goes down to like 500 and stumbles to idle so that works. i figure bah firestone is 3 seconds away ill go get my new re11s on and personally do an alignment hehehe. decided to take a test drive. oh boy a blue fox body with wide rear tires a cage and a loud exhaust. he starts eye fucking my car and lurching like he wants to race so i put it in second and take off and my car is struggling in the top end sounding like shit im like fml. baby her home and left her for the night i thinking maybe the s300 lost its tune.

- this morning after i get no sleep stressing out about the stupid car i think check the plugs and timing both are perfect i am leaning now more towards my s300

you guys have any ideas i can try i have an appointment june 16th at lowe and id like to have it fixed by then lol

Who installed the S300? Any chance one of the solder joints isn't quite right? Did you replace the cap by the ECU plugs like they say to? I'd almost lean towards a bad solder joint but it could also be the S300 or the ECU itself...

Double check the solder joints and go from there.

It only takes one bad solder joint to cause a problem. Just one bad or cold joint will let the car start but not necessarily run correctly.

Have you verified that your IACV is not just sticking?

ive cleaned it out last night and while it running i unplugged it and it dropped just like its suppose to but i guess it could be sticking ill test it with a known good one but that would not explain the sluggish top end?

Incorrect tune could explain sluggish top end if you only have a basemap in it. If you are already tuned, I'd watch SManager for an intermittent TPS, CTS, O2 (if you are running closed loop) or MAP.

by personally doing your alignment, you mean sitting in the car while randy was making all the adjustments? someone must have made you a killer deal on those re-11's too...
