Usually Stage 2 cams require valvetrain upgrades (i.e. Valves, Springs, Retainers)rsxxx;51313 wrote:okay guys heres an update; the plan is stage 2 cam, down pipe, k-pro. but i'm not 100% if i need intake and exhaust valves...does anyone know about that? oh and i already have coilovers. thanks for the advise to guys-respect

imo, stage 2 cams are worthless w/o higher comp ratios, id stick with a stage 1 setup.SilverStreak;51314 wrote:Usually Stage 2 cams require valvetrain upgrades (i.e. Valves, Springs, Retainers)

95% of the hondas with a turbo around here can, be default, be considered done wrong. I have daily driven my ls civic for good bit of the past 3 years. 2 of those years I drove to work (5 days a week) 50 miles round trip. And no, not even on 8psi......it has been running 12-18 psi from in that time period (on a larger turbo). That has also been about 100-150 passes at the track.bildo16;51192 wrote:your car is the exception to people blowing their shit up. the sc kit comes with a reflash, the facts of my opinions are based on experience car "a" has jrsc, lasts for 3 years runing 8 psi and turning out 14.8 1/4 timeslips only on the jrsc, and their reflash. car "b" has turbo kit scrapped together, runs 8 psi(ON A GOOD TUNE!) and turns 15 flat, then blows up after1 1/2 years to everyones disbelief. say what you want, the car had a good tune, was pulling12.3 a/f at full boost, and was daily driven for a full summer. granted, they were both cavaliers, but after you factor in the cost of
1. manifold
2. TURBO!
3. intercooler4. wastegate(if needed)
5. charge pipes
6. injectors
7. bov
8. dump & all other exhaust
9. tuning software
10. the tune
11. gauges(unless your a complete retard)
With the jrsc, you get the sc and the reflash, youre done. thats all thats needed. it is proven reliable power imo due to what i have seen in the past compared to turboed cars. you just said there ARE hundreds more like it, just not around here, but then you say you can count off 5 that live within 10 miles of your house,yo umust live in some concentrated area where you can dig through peoples trash and find fmic, and turbos being thrown away. you are biased since you drive a turboed car, you can say that youre not, but you are, i drive a nearly stock gsr, but i also drive 60 miles a day for work purposes, i have a friend with a cavalier putting down great numbers on a kit that he built himself( manifold, exhaust, charge pipes) so i consider myself to be one of the least biased people around.
Why don't you go ahead and use a jrsc on your car and we can run sometime.......then you will know why we don't like superchargers on our hondas. And it is not all about the tune....I can't really explain it, but you have to be smart with things. Research the crap out of anything and everything....and listen (both literally and non-literally) to your motor/car.
Fast, lasting cars usually have that kind of person behind them.
last rant.....comparing $ to e.t. ....a turbo wins every time (fast 4 cylinder).

i hope your not talking about the 94 civic that ran 15.5, cause if you are, i will run you n/a. you really cant explain it, its not all about the tune?? youre a fucking moron! IT IS 100% ABOUT THE TUNE!!!!!! you can have the best of everything, but if your tunes sucks, YOUR SHIT BLOWS UP! seriously, if your turboed car is running 15.5, and i slap a jrsc on mine, you wont be happy with the outcome. i seriously stopped reading when you said its not all about the tune.
