speedo help..

i am trying to see if anyone has had this problem before.

92 civic lx 5 speed

speedo sits at 0 when car off but as soon as u start it it goes up to about 60 and sticks there.. and dosent move untill u stut the car off then back to 0

bad cluster?
or bad sensor?

Hey, try this out to see I the sensor is out if not try a different cluster.

That does sound like a bad sensor or stepper motor in the cluster. I don't remember what the VSS output is/should be, but one of the online fsm should have the testing processes.

ya i figured it was one or the other but wasnt sure how to test them... so ill chrvk the site that was sent and go from there.,

I got te sensor part on eBay for mine for a very decent price. Works like a champ.
