dead speed sensor after hard pull

This is a s4c tranny in a 2000 civic ex.

Like it says, speed senor died after a hard pull the other night. I took it off and you can hear the key pin rattling around inside. Im wondering if I can use the sensor of my stock s40 tranny?

And has anyone done this before?
