s2000 clutch issue
So, something is up with my clutch. It takes off fine, grabs and goes, I can floor it in any gear and it won't slip or anything. The second I go to grab gears, like all the way to 8k and slam it into the next gear it slips its ass off, like redlines it's slipping so bad. So, is this another issue, or is my clutch just fucked?

care to elaborate? I'm not hard on this car, by any means, I just don't understand how a clutch can slip only at high rpm shifts, but be fine everywhere else.rickles8099;279359 wrote:i think you answered your question right before you asked it.

yes, I understand no one on this forum goes out and grabs gears, and enjoys their car. that's not the point, I'm just saying where it slips, and if it might be any other issue other than the clutch.

I would say worn clutch.
Getting it to stick on a redline shift is probably the hardest on the clutch. Since the motor only puts out 150-170 ft lbs of torque, you probably won't slip just getting into it on a high load gear.

Just to update this thread....
If the car is a 2004-2009, it is not your cluctch (most likely). These cars have a clutch delay valve in the slave cylinder. When you let off the clutch fast, the fluid slowly drains out of the slave through a small valve/hole.
You can either remove the 2 peices that affect this, or I believe you can use a slave cylinder off of a 00-03.

I actually switched the CDV out with a first gen slave and it still does it. Idk, I just don't drive it hard anymore.

Do you still have the original clutch? Mine did the exact same thing and I put a Science of Speed clutch in my car and wallah problem solved. Sounds to me like your clutch is worn out and due for replacement.ryansDc5;279345 wrote:So, something is up with my clutch.
