Axle seal?

Post by getteg »

So Im replacing the clutch in the teg along with one of the axles. So I figured while it is out I might as well do some other things as well. I am replacing the axle seals and am wondering if it is as easy as it looks. Just pry the old out and push the new in? Any insight on this would be great.

Thanks
Brian

its easy but theres alot of room for mistake. If you don't align the seal flesh with the transmission casing it will leak. From my experience its helps to double/triple check it before popping in the axle. It will save you alot of headaches.:SuicidalSmiley:

just dont beat it in with a regular hammer like some dumbasses, hehe. you can take a wood block and partially seat the seal, then get a socket that fits just over it with some tape on the end to protect the seal and then gently tap it in flush. also you can lube the seal a bit before you slide the axle in so it wont catch and tear
