having some problems with my 5 speed
well first off i think the tranny in this car is the gsr integra tranny. when i got it home from trading for it the other night in my driveway the cv axle popped out of the tranny. so i then went and bought a ls integra tranny's axle for the passanger side.. "thought thats what i had at first was the ls tranny" ive been told its possibly the gsr and the axles are the same. when i installed the new axle it makes a loud popping noise and sooner than later the cv axle pops out again.. any ideas? tranny is shifing fine and smoothly, only does this popping when taking off from a dead stop.. not sure if there is any pre existing damage to the sub frame. but it looks straight to me.. al fenders have matching vin tags. any one know what may be a solution?

I had this same issue with a B16A transmission that had an OBX LSD installed improperly a couple years ago. I switched to a different stock B16A transmission and had zero issues from that point on. It's difficult to say if you're having the same issue that I had without looking at the car, but this is my experience with a similar issue.

im not to sure what's going on without looking at the car an easy thing to do would be to look at your motor mounts and see if you have one thats blown out. if your trans is siting to low it could cause your cv's to bind and brake
honestly i have had pretty good luck with junk yard trannies. you just have to look for signs for weather or not it has been beaten on. "autozone type r seat covers, painted green dash, fart cans, ect" 9/10 i get a good tranny. if you find a car that is there cuz of a collision its a grate chance the tranny is in good shape unless it was hit in the impactteggy*sauce;263955 wrote:so pretty much what your saying is that my tranny is done for? and that i need to buy a different one..? man i hope thats not the case, i dont know anyone with good or cheap tranny's now days.. soemthign that will last. as i dont want to just throw some junkyard shit in my car and hope for the best.. ya kno?
