how do i know if its a gsr tranny

ok im going to buy a gsr tranny tommorow but i wanna be sure its a gsr tranny and im not just getting ripped off

the number on it is s80-3066035

im not sure can anyone help me out on this

for your info i did fuckin google it and i read a shit ton about it gsr trannys are s80 or y80 but also alot of the ls transmissions are s80 so theres my problem

theres no tellin what tranny that is for sure without putting it in your car and checking rpm/mph. can you get the vin from the guy your buying it from? cuz then you can carfax it and find out real quick.

This is from H-T...

The VIN number on the green tag. If it is JH4DC2 then it is a GS-R tranny, if it is JH4DC4 then it is an LS.

It could also be a B16 whcih the vin would have EM1 in it. How much are you paying for the transmission?

if it says s80 on the case its not a b16. b16 is s4c. unless they swapped cases.

i paid 300 for it and it did have the green tag on it with the dc2 in the vin so im pretty sure its a gsr tranny

o i forgot the case is also stamped V4D does anyone know what this means
