Why would you want the LS final in a GSR? Puts you about as bad as an LS. You have the small bolt pattern ring, 4.26 FD which will make it BARELY better than an LS gearing wise.
I guess to really answer your question, we need to ask you some.
1. Do you really know you'll make 500 hp or is this dreamland hp?
2. IF you really make 500 whp (or even if you don't), what RPM does this max hp number occur at?
3. Let's see your dyno sheet so we can calculate what FD and tire heigh you need to achieve redline in 4th gear in the 1/4.
Without the answers to 2 and 3, any answer we give is just a guess. You want to run as short a gear trans as you can while still maintaining the top of 4th gear at the end of the quarter. However, if you are a handicapped shifter, this can come into play. That last sentence may sound like sarcasm but it's not. Some people just can't comprehend how fast a car is revving to achieve a shift before they spend 10 minutes on the rev limiter....

Hey kevin, you know how my vote goes. We have talked about this several times. with the power our motors are pushing, u deff dont need to go b16 or gsr. Ur bone stock b20 turbo'd was blasting those 24" slicks at the track. What do you think its gonna do with a built motor. Shit u rode in my car just on 12psi, and I have a gsr tranny with an ls final, it was still blowing radials.

Ryan- the motor that he's putting together will def be capable of the HP goals. It's going into a 97(?) DX coupe.
2.0L sleeved fully built, garrett gt35 (if I remember) and I believe it will be on a topmount.
I'm kinda thinking that the GSR with a handcuff and a diff would do him just fine.
Kevin, you've got a perfectly good SI sedan for road trippin', no need for a 5th gear anyway! lol.

i think you need to put the quiafe & new sycro's in the b16 and be done with it. you should run the slicks you got first to see what hgappens. take it to a different track that actually preps their track.
i'm ready to see the beast on the road and tried of just hearing about it
