Post by muha22752 »

could this be done. i heard that a f block bolts up to the k tranny, so could u put a f20b block on a h22a head, with a k tranny?
the only reason i ask is cause a 6speed would be awesome on gas.i just read this some where but i could be wrong.

I have never herd of a k trans on an f/h block. However, even though the type s trans is a 6sp, it doesnt save gas (at least with a k series). My RSX-S used to get 27 mixed and 32 all highway miles. The gears are really close and tight, so even in 6th gear, your rpm's are still over 3k on the highway.

No this will not work what so ever. The K transmission will not work correctly on an H. Our trannys are located on the driver side as opposed to the usual tranny on the passenger side. On top of that the 05-06 trannies speed gear is completely different then the 02-04 and previous honda series motors. Also our trannies are cable trannies. I was also told that our trannies shaft spin the opposite way.

I think you confused the F20b with the F20C (s2000 motor). they have done that swap with a k series transmission so you can have the f20c as a front wheel drive motor.

and yes, that transmission would be backwards for what you are wanting to do.

stick with your block's trannys.

Get a B series trannie, it would be 10xS better then the H series. They have H to B adapter plates plus the gearing in a B series is better then the H.
oh wait.. nvm, i thought you were completely talkin about just the H series.
