yeah the bolt is pretty tight. and you just gave me an idea to sort of narrow down the problem i will hold the linkage tight while someone wiggles the shifter and if it has play something is a miss in the shifter area if it has no play it is going to be in the tranny area (god i hope not)mike93hatch;105211 wrote:where the linkage connects to the bottom of the shifter...how tight is that bolt there?
is it really that hard to get underneath the car and have someone move the shifter around to see where the play is ??

no, its not that..06sik20z3;105219 wrote: check out number 8 and 11 anyone have any problems with those going out?
just check and see where the play is and if its in the tranny then that is perfectly normal. all hondas have some play period.
now if you have a tall shifter then it will feel like there is more play..and if you have shifter that is overall short and closer to the console then it wont feel like there is as much play.

uh no. MAYBE if he has problems shifting into gears or grinding MAYBE.
but the mounts have nothing to do with the shifter play.....its not like when you wiggle the shifter you are wiggling the entire engine/tranny LOL

Nope, mine was caused because a bolt was put in place of the "bitch pin".HondaChild;105204 wrote:I remeber Rob's old 4 door was like that, I think he said it had something to do with one of the linkages.

well it is still all messed up. only thing i can think of is its a cheap short throw and the ball on the actual shifter is not within specs, so when i get another job and am caught up on some bills ill buy a nice one.
