leaking
ok i checked about everything i know to check. i had a tech a work check. i have a trans fluid leak on the passanger side. its leaked every since a trans swap. i also had a broken axle on the same side replaced the same time as the trans swap was done. now my car is a abs car the axle i replaced it with is a non abs axle. will this axle wok? will the non abs axle make the car leak? we replaced the axle seal thats not it. now its been leaking for 2 weeks and i had to add 1 qt of fluid today to it. in around 550 miles. now the reason we figured it was the axle seal is when it was on the hoist we put it in 5th and let it idle. ever 3-5 seconds the passanger side axle will throw a drip of fluid. i am honestly out of ideas i have checked everything i can check. i just simple greened the trans today and took it for a SMALL drive 3 blocks. parked it and it already had a drip of trans fluid. so im going to start checking tomarrow since it should be somewhat clean. now i ask of you if u have ANY ideas where it might be leaking post them i will check them all. thanks also i got full coverage if neon wants to make 50 bucks burn the fucker

There are only 4 places the tranny will leak from....drain plug, fill plug, driver side axle seal or passenger side axle seal. If it's coming from the passenger side then it could be one of three.....I can almost 99.999% guarantee that it is the axle seal. I did mine 3 times before it stopped leaking. Your axle may not be completely seated or when you pressed it in you may have bent the metal inside the seal...I did this twice. The only thing you can do is to pull it out and replace it again.

drain and fill plug arnt leaking i know this i replaced both seals on them as well. so i guess its the axle seal yet again. there isnt any bolts that can be loose or gaskets to be leaking other then the axle seals?

Nope, no bolts and it's just the plugs and axle seals. You really have to be super careful putting them in because they bend really easy. I used a short block of wood and a rubber mallet to "press" mine in. I figured out that worked better then the other methods I tried that bent them

Is it leaking where the tranny meets the block or closer to the inner part of the axle. Now replaceing with a non abs axle you shave about a quarter of a inch on the actual cup where the axle bolts into the hub due to the abs end being a tad larger which in turns when the cars sitting the axle is fully in the tranny but when you turn you might just be pulling the axle out a bit and with the car driving and the gears moving in the tranny it will force fluid out. I've had a few buddys with the same problem on there d-series cars and replaced with the right axle and the problem seems to disapear.
Hope this help you

well i cant really tell where its leaking cuz it throws he fluid all over the car. now when it is in the air with the wheels str8 it throws the fluid off the axle. i been playing with the idea of changing axles but i dont know thats about last try. dont really have the mony for that right now

If it's doing this then its either the axle or the axle seal, not the vss06fg1;52489 wrote:well i cant really tell where its leaking cuz it throws he fluid all over the car. now when it is in the air with the wheels str8 it throws the fluid off the axle.
