what the difference between 4.785 and 4.928.
i know :google: it, NO! i looked at the thread spork put up and the 98+ itrs have the 4.785's in them and all other honda trannys are much lower. i know that the final drive allows you to mess with the top speed and acceleration, i just need the difference in the two. im building a street car, high rpm's some were past 9 so what one will help more for high rpm racen?
thank you.

the 4.7 is slighty longer and you will get a higher mph per gear, the 4.9 is shorter and will be better for low speed acceleration. But both of those are honestly REALLY short (like 4X4 short). what are the rest of the gears? just for comparisson stock CRXs came with 3.88 and 4.25 final drives

the best way to choose a gearing setup is by trial, trying them out to see which one fits your needs. since the mugen gears are prob pretty expensive i would just try to find someone wit them in a similar setup. then you can see how thier car did with the gearing and take the info they gave you and apply it to your gear choice. If you need any help at all with transmissions rickles is the guy to talk to. he practically changes his gearing weekly :worthy:

you realize that there is no 4.25 final drive for b-series (i believe you have a b18a, correct)Liquor Assassin;39498 wrote:know where to find a 4.25 tranny? i think mine has the 4.78 and it is way to short... i dont even use first
there is 4.266, 4.4, and 4.785. I will have an extra 4.4 here soon, if you think you might be interested in that... and if you have a 4.785, I would be interested in trading you.
