Tranny Fluid ?

I gotta 99' Civic Si tranny in my Sol to start things off. When I get on the throttle at high rpm's it grinds goin into second and sometimes third. Also when i try to shift form fourth down into third it normally wont until a lower speed. My ? is this from the synchros, and do you think running a synchro mesh gear oil would solve this problem. Any addvice would help thanks.

i have the similar problem in my si. synchromesh does help depending on how far along the synchros are. it will prolong the life of the synchros. but another thing that helps is the lucas oil treatment. try it and tell me how it does.

ive heard if you granny shift and double lutch like you should helps a lot also, my .02.

well i would try the tranny fluid first since its a much cheaper and easier fix then fixin tranny...but eventually with hard driving it will have to be fixed and like other post said depends on how far gone they are. I run royol purple trans fluid i love it

synchromesh+lucas.....if it dosnt help/solve the issue then replace the problem', sometimes it helps, sometimes it dosnt, the problem is still going to be there but it wont be as bad, its just kinda like covering up the problem but hell if it will last a bit longer before it craps out then go for it'

ps: honda has a new tranny fluid "synchromesh", not sure how different it is from the stuff gm sells but honda has there own line of it now....
