car not starting. need help asap

Post by lurch95hatch »

95 civic with gsr swap, had it running for a few days and now it just took a shit on me. it was driving fine and all the sudden it started to sputter and idle rough. i did a tune up (plugs, wires, cap, and rotor) and now when i turn the key over the fuel pump makes no sound and i have a humming under the dash. i think it may be the main relay, but im no mechanic im just a parts changer.

Also did a volt reading on the battery and it read 12.6 VDC

Last night when it died I was able to pull two codes, sorry should have put them up in the original post. I pulled code 20 electronic load detector, and code 43 fuel supply code. I was thinking I need to buy an under hood fuse box for the ELD code, and I'm going to buy a new fuel pump. All the research I have done on the code 43 turns up a bunch of "bad o2 sensor" likes on the interwebs, didn't know if you guys might have some more insight.

Code 20 is for the ELD (electrical load detector). It's a sensor built into the fusebox in the engine compartment. (It measure the overall electrical load so the ECU can do a better job holding a steady idle speed.)

and the 43 maybe o2 sensor?? hold old is the fuel filter?

or both could be ecu

code 43 could be 02 sensor, fuel filter, fpr. and if when you turn the key on, and the cel doesn't go off, try replacing the relay. easy find at the junkyard.

and with code 20, the easiest rout might be to change your under hood fuse box, but i would check all terminals before hand, batt., alt., etc...
