d15 modding questions

Post by boostjunkie »

Alright guys I have d15b2 in my ef and am looking to do some mods to give it a little more pep. It already has header, hi flow cat, full exaust and k&n drop in filter. It is the dual point but would like to do the mpfi/log mani intake swap and maybe a jdm zc 1.6 cam. Does this sound like a good start for some basic mods? Anything else that I could do to free up a little hp other than what I already want to do? Any advice or experiences with doing certain things would be greatly apprieciated. Also Im not looking to build a motor untill I can save up some $$$... Also what kind of gain if any would I get if I advanced the timing and would it be worth doing?

Convert it to MPFI.

Get a stock D16A6 camshaft and valve springs. You will need an adjustable cam gear (after market) or a D16Y7 cam gear I believe.

and go sign up on d-series.org.

And as it turns, the red lights, they were turning into red roses, red roses. Red roses. I'm not giving up." - Steps Ascending by Thursday

Don't waste your time. You'll be disappointed with the results of modifying that engine. Save your money for a better engine and go from there.

You don't think you need that. You would need at least an injector resistor box, obd0 MPFI injector clips and obd0 MPFI D series distributor with both the dizzy side and harness side plugs.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
