has anyone heard of putting the b16a2 rods, crank, and pistons into the ls block? would this be considered a de-stroked motor? advantages or disadvantages? possible CR? i will be shooting for a boosted setup.

I don't think that would work at all, and if it did, your compression numbers are going to be crazy low at 5.57:1

Are you sure you are not reading about lsv with ls bottom and just b16 pistons?

you don't want the B16 rods or crank. Use PR3 pistons w/ a b16a2 head, use ls pistons or pistons that ill raise compression.

see the thing is, the pistons i had from the ls block were eaten away by the chemical bath i had stirred up. LOL. i was wondering about the cr most of all because i heard it was stupid low. i have the b16 in my car and was thinking about just swapping the lower end internals if it would work well. but looks like thats not happening. im shooting for somewhat around a 9.0:1 cr, something that'll work good with boost. i know that the stock b16 pistons will give me an 11.7:1 cr which i dont feel comfortable with under a boost application.

how about the b18a1 rod length vs the b16a2's rod length? if i were to use either of the two rods with a shorter rod length that might lower the compression with still using the b16 pistons without hitting the 11.7cr.

Or just find another set of ls pistons for dirt cheap.

so i figured that with the b16 rods on the ls crank ill be looking at a 1.505 r/s ration. talk about some tq. im just trying to work with what i got because i have barely any money flowing in so its a budget build to an extent. ill invest in the arp rod bolts and head studs of course.

somewhere i saw someone that said the b16 pistons in the ls block would need bigger rings? i dont get why they said that since they are of the same 81mm bore.

also, thanks for the link rick.
