starting trouble
I just dropped a new engine in my civic and when i tried to start it it turned over and shot a spark from the starter or around it and then i got nothin when i turned the key. I tried 2 jump it , got the starter to jump but havent had it checked. I checked fuses and all good and since the spark i now dont hear that click in my fuel rail u hear when u just turn the power on. Im wondering if maybe i hooked something up wrong with my swap or what . someone please HELP

My hondas a 96 EX and i put a b20b4 crv in non-vetec dohc manual. When you tun the key you hear the click inside the engine, i just assume that its the injector engaging, but i no longer hear that ever since the spark; no humming from the fuel pump. Is the humm before the click the fuel pump engaging just so i know?

yes its next to the fuses. it looks like a small black box. and the humming noise comes from the fuel pump. idk if it comes on before the injectors or not? you should be able to hear it inside the car if not have someone else turn the key while u stick your head in the trunk to listen. as far as the spark goes... trace the wires connected to the starter, figure out where they go and look for any shorts or burt wires. if you have enough knowledge to do a swap then this should be easy for u.
