D16Y8 Bogging, help please

Post by getteg »

Ok so i did some searching here and came up empty.

I just put a good Y8 in a 00 EX and it is bogging over 2000 RPM or so. The car idles just fine and I checked all the connectors and Im 95% sure everything is hooked up right. Also there is no CEL being thrown. If anyone has any ideas or would be willing to help me figure it out that would be great. I would be more than willing to throw some cash, parts or a dinner your way if anyone wanted to give me a hand.

Thanks
Brian

I also just noticed that it only seams to do it when driving. I can rev it in the garage and it has no issues.

Never touched the timing belt, though I did have to swap over the Dizzy. Could it be on wrong or possibly the firing order?

not the cam timing, the ignition timing. you know... jump the connector under the glove box, hook up timing light to battery and number one spark plug, while car is warm and idling at roughly 750rpms, check to make sure youre the required degrees before tdc. if youre not, adjust distributor.

Still working on getting a timing light today.

However I started it again earlier and now a CEL comes on, so I checked it and it seams to be CEL #10 (Intake Air Temp). Would this have any effect on how the car is running?

Scratch CEL 10 i forgot to hook it back up. Reset the ECU and adjusted the ignition timing without a light so its deff not perfect still but I went out for a short drive and now it is throwing a CEL 23 (knock sensor) :( Anyone have any thoughts?
