alternator question

will an alternator from a d16z6 work on my d16y7 with a y8 head?

im pretty sure it will fit all d series but i just want to make sure.

It will fit but it will only work in an '88-'95 Civic. '96-'00 have a different plug for the alternator than '88-'95
