Post by 95_gsrfodo »

ok we have a 93 prelude 2.3
we bought with a locked motor the honda motor patch was ground off looks ike a h23 though
got a junkyard 2.3 h23a1 from a running lude wrecked..
had a few thinks to swap got to this senor in the back of the block above the oil filter
this is what was in the old motor looks like a oil sensor 1/4 tread
"drilled all the way though the block and has oil in it"

but the motor going in has larger treads 3/8 tread and looks like a knock senor "not drilled all the way though the block and dry no oil" but in the same spot ad the one that looks like a oil sensor..

what should i do here...

It looks like an oil pressure switch.

It looks like an oil galley runs straight up from the filter, and feeds the head / switch.

I would keep the oil switch on your new motor....and just use a knock sensor for the other hole ( or just leave it empty ).

ok i think i juts figuried it out tore the motor down
the old block is a f22a1 with a h23 head
this is why its a oil switch in the old motor and the engine code was ground off...

the new motor being the right motor has the knock sensor as it should..

this is also why the motors lock the prob. did put it together right...
