I had a similar issue with one of my old cars that ended up being the fast idle thermo valve. Should be on the back of the manifold.
Inside it is a plastic disc that you should need to tighten down and that fixed my surging idle.
Also you should look for any vacuum leaks.
please help! whats this on intake?

You can usually hear the leak. If not you can try carb cleaner or just pinching hoses while the car is running. I would check the fast idle valve like phate said and bleed your cooling system before trying to chase a vacuum leak.sirricealot;261419 wrote:So how can I find a vac leak? Gonna try fitv tomorro

I cleaned the iacv on my buddys car the other day and i knocked a vacuum line off. Check on the back of your intake manifold on the drivers side, theres a vacuum line as big around as a pencil and it causes that idling problem if its disconnected

first of all your vacuum lines need help, they look all messed up. replace that clear vinyl hose with rubber.
i would try disconnecting the battery for awhile then hooking it back up.
if that didnt work adjust your idle with the follow procedure.
1. jump the service plug
2. unplug the iacv
3. start the car
4. set the idle screw on the throttle body so the engine idles around 600rpm, turn on all accessories, readjust the idle speed to 600rpm (if it changes).
5. turn off car, plug the iacv back in and remove the jumper from the service plug.
6. start the car and check idle speed.
the idle screw is a large flat head screw on top of the throttle body, it may have a rubber plug over it.
the service plug is either located on the drivers side fender or by the passenger side kick panel its a plug that has two wires going to it, most times its green with a yellow cap on it. when you jump it use a short piece of wire or a paper clip.

This should help you a little bit. Basically a more detailed guide to stolle's previous post.
Check that all the vacuum lines match this diagram and that they are all in good shape.

The more detailed guide to properly setting the idle speed.

Based on what you've posted, this seem like it would fix your issue. If not, post the results and I'll get you more info from there.

ill do this in the morning. so you think my FITV is fine?
the iacv had a lot of carbon build up. seems a little better but ill adjust it tomorrow. i seen a flat slotted screw on the side of the tb after i took intake off, is that it? i dont have a cover for my fuse panel so idk which fuse to pull
.
the diagram seemed like my vac lines are all hooked up if i remember correctly.
and the clear tubing is for my vac gauge, i had to rip off the old hose to splice a section for the gauge and just decided to use the nice tubing lol. check out my gauge in the video.

If you haven't followed this guide, do so before the steps stolle and myself mentioned in the previous posts.sirricealot;261503 wrote:ill do this in the morning. so you think my FITV is fine?

That screw should be it. It should be in the same position as pictured in the service manual.
Here is what your fuse box cover should look like. There is only one 7.5 Amp fuse in there so it shouldn't be hard to find.

I had the 2 wire plug on my iacv switched around with another plug once and it did that exact same thing. Find another 2 wire plug like it and switch them.
Sorry if somebody already mentioned that....didnt feel like reading the above posts.
