Popping noise and odd back end shift.

Post by 99PreludeSh »

Problem 1
When my car warms up I come to a complete stop and SOMETIMES it makes a popping noise and I can feel it in my dead pedal. Taking off from a stop in first I hear and feel the noise again, and sometimes shifting from 1st to second I get the same thing. Just now it has started making the noise going over bumps at low speeds it does the same thing.

I jacked my car up and checked to see if I had play in my ball joints and no play whatsoever. I just replaced my driver side axle and outer tie rod about a month ago and it didn't fix the popping noise. The more I drive the car the more often it pops.

Problem 2
Every time I make a slight continuous curve whether it's on the highway or from a stop it feels like something pops loose and the whole back end shifts over. Tom was behind me on the highway not too long ago and he could see it hop over. As soon as that happens my ATTS light kicks on and it won't do it again until I turn my car off and back on.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks so much

my guess would be the suspension since I can feel it in my feet. Someone mentioned that they had the same exact problem and it was a wheel bearing so I'm going to replace it and see if it still does it.
