I have given it some thought and see what other people say and use about their choice of a oil filter with their choice of oil to use in the car you drive.

for the crx:
wix oil filter
castrol 10w-30
trans, castrol 10w-30
the castrol oil just doesnt seem like it gets nasty like some others i have used as far as color and smell. i started using the wix filters after i saw a cutaway of one a long time ago, just looks quaility more pleats etc..

I hope this thread goes better then the last...
Jetta 1.8T - OEM Oil Filter and 5W-40 Castrol Syntec
I'll never understand why people use inferior products like Fram. Do you really know what you're putting on your car? You can physically see it's not the right oil filter compared to the OEM one. Unfortunately, I see this at work all the time when customers bring me their own oil and filter. Even two members on the board here. I showed one person the difference between the Fram filter and a Service Champ filter for the GM Ecotec motor, which is cartridge style rather then the spin-on style that Honda uses. It was un-fucking-believable. The adhesive that held the filter element together looked like it was applied by a 10-year-old with a hot glue gun. And the weight difference between the two was very noticeable. These faults are especially important on these motors as they're equipped with an oil life indicator that counts down until you reach a certain percentage and will tell you to change the engine oil. At this point, you've gone roughly 6 to 10 thousand miles since your last oil change with an oil filter that broke and stopped performing to spec at 2 to 3 thousand miles.
I'm not trying to start and argument. I'm just trying to encourage people to look at what they doing to their cars and choose a better product. Bosch, Mobil, STP, Valvoline and OEM Toyo Roki/Filtech (NOT HONEYWELL!) all make appropriate oil filters starting at $2 more then the Fram Extra Guard.

eh I havent had any problem yet, I usually get my oil from Walmart since it appears to be cheaper and the Fram is just there. Every once in awhile I do Mobile, but I dont drive my car daily, maybe once or twice a week, and even still change my oil every 3ish thousand miles. Maybe when I start driving it more I will switch?
