B16 help
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some troubles I have been having lately. I recently swapped a b16a1 into my 1990 hatch. I bought it off a guy that had basically every thing rigged and hanging by a thread. The engine has been in for a few months now and I had a couple buddies do it for me and they got basically everything right on it, its just that now im havin some problems with an oil leak somewhere that we cant find, the idle is off, and for some reason when I get on it and shift gears it feels like its hesitating a little to get back to full power (i cant even get a second gear scratch). The buddies of mine that put it in dont know much about hondas so instead of wasting my time and theres I would much rather have someone check it out that has hondas in their blood and knows every little thing about them. So if someone can point me in the right direction or knows someone that can help me fix, tune, or whatever it needs, please let me know. Thanks.

The ecu I have to check on, I can never remember. and yes the vtec does engage but at like 4200-4400 somewhere in there. and it doesnt really matter what rpm i shift at as long as its above 6ish. I think its getting worse to, i got on it a little today going up the entrance ramp and I shifted from first to second at about 7ish rpm and got off the clutch and floored it and the rpm were still dropping for another like maybe 2 or 3 seconds with the gas floored.

if your car was anything but an si they would have had to have done an mpfi swap, it sounds like they didnt switch the wires on the tps sensor. its easy to do just depin the outer two wires on the tps plug and switch them around...if it doesnt help then switch them back...erming;232545 wrote:That is something I'm going to have to ask them
