Has anyone done a cam plug on an integra?

Post by zrs6v4 »

I am doing a cam plug/seal on my 99 LS integra and was wondering if it is that important to tighten the cam caps back up to 86 in/pounds? Do I need to reseal anything else? I ask because I was going to do this tonight and have no access to an inch pounds torque wrench. Any advice is appreciated

Just set to 7 or 8 ft/lbs. 86 in/lbs is 7.4 ft/lbs

take off the valve cover unbolt the cam cap on the end tap it lightly if it wont come out
put some sort of silicone around the cam seal and shit
i would say tighten em as tight as you can get em with a thumb wrench if you dont have a torque wrench
so far behind im ahead of the pack.

I would highly recommend doing it with a torque wrench. it's not an emergency repair where you just need it to get down the street to a shop, so wait until you have a torque wrench to do it.
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.

You should absolutley wait till you have a torque wrench if you want to ensure reliability and no leaks, also as stated above hondabond is your friend!
