Build the B16B?

Post by Turbo »

to build, or not to build....this is the question...

since the motor is already out of the CTR and waiting to go in to the new hatch. i just wanted to throw it out there and see what you guys think.

Of course, it would be N/A...so don't say boost.
this car is my DD and if anything i would just want 230 out of it and call it good. I will be taking it to the Nurenburgring and the track for fun.

So what do you think? what would you do?

build it... just a little so its still driveable for everyday use. dont go nuts obviously... but a mild build would be cool.

You could always throw a GSR or ITR crank/rods in there along with some pistons that would yield 11-11.5:1 compression. More displacement=more power and more torque. Then, you can do ported head (I can get you hooked up with a good and cheap head porter) and throw some cams in and make some very nice power. Heck, there are a set of Rocket cams/springs/retainers for sale here that would go very nicely with your engine.

You can still say you have a B16B and point at the stamp on the block then let people scratch their head as to why in the world you are making the power you are. ON the other hand, a B16B is a cool engine if you just want to leave it as is (that would also be your cheaper route....)
