Any one ever had teeth sheer off on their crank pulley? A week and a half ago the crank pulley bolt backed its way out, tightened it back down seemed ok and just today I hear a ticking I immediately pull over and pop the hood and my PS belt and serpentine belt are just hanging out. I take a look under the car and see the crank pulley is hanging by a thread. Take that off and notice teeth are missing on it. Called Honda they said they have never heard of that happening on an H22 didn't know if he was full of it or what.
Damn your crank pulley is falling apart, material chipping out of it and all. Time to replace it, the bolt, and the keyway if I was you.
Not something I have seen before but there is not teeth on the crank snout, just the interior of the pulley is cut like that to keep the pulley from getting stuck on the snout.

I mean, I can spin a crank pulley on the end of the crank all day when the key is out. I can't think of why the bolt would rattle loose though.
Was the keyway already chipped?
I honestly have no idea the crank pulley has never been off the car. Even the first time the bolt backed itself out the crank stayed put and I didnt see anything wrong.

Oh I for sure plan on replacing all the above I was just confused as to why it would happen.
You should check the od of the crank. The spot you see the "teeth" missing is actually the spot where the crank spun inside of the pulley and ate that area out. The pulley is ruined for sure. This is also the 3rd H22 I've seen do the same exact thing. Check OD of crank snout and compare to factory specs. If it's too small, the problem will keep happening. Pulley should fit on fairly snug without the key.
