dont really have any hrs pwr goals. not sure what u can get out of this engine.. i just want to build a decent motor..its not my daily.. i would rather stick with my sohc..i know u can get power out of them and its less headach then a dohc.. i have about $2000 rite now and can save if i have to.. i have had a few civics but i dont kno alot about "building a motor" cause i have noone to teach me u kno.. im a pretty good mechanic on the basic problems but as far as internals im ignorant.. i appreciate ur time..

sohc will be a waste unless you build/boost it'1slowex;219589 wrote:dont really have any hrs pwr goals. not sure what u can get out of this engine.. i just want to build a decent motor..its not my daily.. i would rather stick with my sohc..i know u can get power out of them and its less headach then a dohc.. i have about $2000 rite now and can save if i have to.. i have had a few civics but i dont kno alot about "building a motor" cause i have noone to teach me u kno.. im a pretty good mechanic on the basic problems but as far as internals im ignorant.. i appreciate ur time..
dohc all motor will cost alot..well this is arguable but off the shelf items for an na build are not exactly cheap
dohc boosted will cost nearly as much but make more power'
if it were me personally....sohc motors/parts are generally found pretty cheap...id build the d16 for boost and let the turbo make the power...plenty of solid 300whp-450whp+ single cam slammer's...and in a honda that will be plenty of power..hell i think mike on here is making over 450whp on his sohc d16 motor and possible making 10 sec passes? could be wrong on that but i know he's pulling at least low 11's on his single cam set up
if i were to start all over with the route i went..i would have just built a d16 and boosted it', would have been cheaper in the long run and made as much if not more power than my current set-up is making/is going to make
