Too much psi

Post by erming »

Im thinking about turbo'in my b16 and I dont want to push a lot of boost at all, Im thinkin like 5 psi 6 maybe tops. Ive heard different things people telling me that I should do some internal work and I some say ill be fine. Obviously I know it would be better to do internal work but lets say I dont, is there like a time frame on how long my engine will last (lol)?.

sounds like you got a lot of research to do. There is no telling how long your engine will last/hold. Just use quality parts and the TUNE is probably the most important part.

the tune is the key. ive seen people blow up motors on 8lbs of boost and others last for a long time on 14lbs. just dont get too crazy with it and get a good tune and you will be fine
i may not be "logical" but at least i can change my oil...

I recently turbo'd my stock b16 with 141,000 miles on 8psi. and it runs awsome for what it is. Its got all good quality parts, so that is key and major key is a good tune!!

My tuner I use is awsome. His name is Dennis Reeves and owns Reeves Racing. Hes a great guy and knows what hes doing. He builds and tunes honda motors for a living. Does amazing work.

He tunes on crome. For a full tune on crome said and done will cost $150 bucks.

I highly recommend you use him. You will have to drive a few hours south though if you live in the St.Louis area.

btw my car has been on 8psi for 5 months or so and have had absoubtly no problems from car and I daily it.

Im pretty sure he is on the board though, but im not entirely sure. If hes not you can PM and I can give you his number.
