Eg itr build

Post by CourtesyFlush »

ok, so crashed the gsr and ill be getting a settlement check in soon. im looking at an eg rolling chassis right now and an itr obd1 swap. i need some people to help out with this just in case of something goes wrong. i dont have any of the parts yet but ive found the rolling chassis and engine and will buy it once the settlement check comes in.

this would be in around 2-4 weeks from now ona weekend.

i will provide free pizza/beer/whatever else. just need to know whod be up for it and even if theres a garage with tools i can use. i will pay you if u would like. im doing this mostly for experience and to learn a thing or two.

Much appreciated.

im really hesitant on posting the eg and the itr engine up here because i dont want anyone else snagging them up.

i would be buying

EG HATCH (with suspension and wheels)
B18C5 MOTOR
LSD TRANNY
4-1 HEADERS
STAGE 2 CLUCH
WIRE HARNESS
ECU
AXELS
COMPLETE SWAP OBD1

i know ill need to still buy these things...

fuel rail, pump, lines, injectors
radiator
powersteering items
a/c items
engine mounts
intake mani
intake with filter
throttle body/cable
exhaust
shift linkage
distributor
alternator
sensors
starter
spark plugs and wires

and i know theres more if i can have a list or link to what else i will need.

thanks a lot and i still have much to learn so any help would be amazing.

its just a conversion harness...no big deal...if your looking for an R swap id look around and see if you can find a jdm spec R swap "b18c"....4.7 final drive instead of the 4.4, 11:1 comp, not a huge difference but if the price is the same id snag the jdm version for the extra little perk's, may come with a better exhaust manifold as well'

also..alot of that "things you"ll need list" normally come with the motor depending on whom your purchasing it from....most "swaps" if purchasing from an online store vs someones garage will include alot of whats on that list....could go either way

Can you not search or anything? An ITR engine is Essentially the same swap as a B16 into a civic. I know for a fact, probaly at least 40 people on this site have done it. In fact if you honestly need to know how your better of paying someone to do it.

And your parts list... Almost all of that can be had from your wrecked GSR.

before purchasing id at least run a compression check, reguardless of miles id at least do a compression check....R's are not usually exactly driven soft

ive shipped a motor before...not a big deal, never had any problems, it wasnt exactly cheap but it all worked out just fine

if you need parts lmk, im running a b18c/jdm spec R swap in the del slo...im sure ive got plenty of spare parts laying around...mounts, fuel rail, intake etc' but im sure nearly all of that is either on your gsr or comes with the swap..its a pretty simple swap..just like any other b series...
