I am looking for some aftermarket axles (not oem replacements) that are rated above 300 hp for my 97 Prelude SH. (Thinking I'll probably have to go with 500 hp axles).
Has anyone bought any for their Prelude or know of any good brands I can check out?
I'd like something that has a good warranty as well.
Thanks.

just get some autozone axles. $60 a piece and lifetime warrenty. youre not going to break them unless maybe you do a few 7000 rpm clutch drops on slicks without preloading the axles/drivetrain first.
i use autozones with no problem at all. 24.5" slicks. 1.63 sixty foots launching at 7,000 rpms. trust me, youll be fine. you dont need $1000+ axles. anything less than that is just oem replacement. spend the money elsewhere. my 2 cents.

Thanks Mike. Sounds like a good plan. I am not planning on doing too much but some street racing but the lifetime warranty would be good.mike93hatch;155813 wrote:just get some autozone axles. $60 a piece and lifetime warrenty. youre not going to break them unless maybe you do a few 7000 rpm clutch drops on slicks without preloading the axles/drivetrain first.

Ryan told me about your awesome experience with AutoZone axles at the drag strip..didn't even make it out of the burnout box?mike93hatch;155813 wrote:just get some autozone axles. $60 a piece and lifetime warrenty. youre not going to break them unless maybe you do a few 7000 rpm clutch drops on slicks without preloading the axles/drivetrain first.
It's called being prepared. She might not ever hit 300hp, but there is nothing wrong with having a little security.SLOSHONOGO;155812 wrote:your not making 300 horse...

NO!!!! that was NOT a autozone axle. that was a oreily's axle. stay far away from them. and youre right it didnt last halfway through a burnout.........now mind you, this is not your average burnout on a small tire like everyone on here. i WOULD NOT recommend $60 lifetime warrenty autozone axles and said ive never broke one if i broke one before!! and now you know why i would never recommend a oreily's axle.

I run my car on the road course at GIR and have replaced both axles now (I keep tearing CV boots). First time I bought an Autozone half shaft, and the next time I needed one was for the other side. Bought that one from CarQuest simply b/c they were cheaper than Autozone.
Haven't run w/the CarQuest axle at the track yet, as I tore that CV in November at my very last event for the season. Have had ZERO problems w/the Autozone half shaft and they usually have very good warranties too.
