Dude, b18a/b blocks are cheap. If you need to go .40 over, just buy a new block in better condition

they make 86mm pistons for B-series too.... does that mean you can/should use those in your stock sleeved b18?

If you get quality sleeves installed by someone who has experiance, you won't have issues like some people have. Your going to get tons of opinions on this subject so I'll add mine. If you're sticking with the stock bore and wanting 300whp, stock B18 sleeves will get you there no problem. That's been proven time and time again. But if you HAVE to over bore, I would sleeve it because at that point I wouldn't trust the sleeve to have enough strength to hold together. And stay away from block guards, they're a waste of money.

.040 is what you mean...which is about 1mm total off the diameter of the sleeves. Most of the time you should be able to get by with .020 over. Honestly you'd probably still make it with .040 over and a low goal of 300-350. If you ever wanted to re-use the pistons you would be stuck using a 82mm bore, sleeved or not.

A stock ls turbo will get you to your power goal. I would not sleeve for what you are looking for.

first try with boost? try stock sleeves then you can bore on the next block. trial and error. but .40 over you might has well throw that block in the shed and start over IMHO. also keep that block for the next build.
