Multiple ?'s

Post by Leprechaun86 »

I have an automatic dpfi 1990 Civic Wagon( Wagovan ). I would like to swap to a 5 spd and mpfi.

1. Do i have to get a mounting kit to switch from auto to manual?

2. I have heard they make a harness to switch from dpfi to mpfi, but i
couldnt find anything, is this true?

3. Would i have to do any sheet metal work for the manual shifter to fit
where the auto shifter was?

Thanks, Rich.

Please use Google in the future. It took me two minutes to find all your answers.

1) You just need to use manual transmission mounts. No custom mounts are needed.

2) Rywire. http://rywire.com/store/8891-crxcivic-d ... 2d65e406cc

3) Yes and No. You will have to do some drilling and cutting to mount the shift linkage and shifter. And if you don't want a huge hole under the center console, you'll want to make something to cover up where the automatic shifter was.

Edit: More help for you, because I know this will answer the next questions that you're going to ask.

wow, $160 + cost of dpfi and mpfi harnesses, and you still have to do wiring on the ecu side, what a rip off. I built my own harness... it cost way less than $160 and had connectors at the firewall for easy removal of everything.
This post comes with a guarantee: I guarantee that I don't care what you think about it.

Here is a DIY for all the wiring.
