Ok, I went and bought a comp test from auto shop, Im really new to this, so i couldnt figure it out, been trying to find online help, and not really making any out of it. and the directions that came with it are not very helpful. the car isnt smoking as much again, seems to be getting less and less everytime I run it, I havent driven it yet though, just started and let it run.

so let me get this straight, I check the compression while the engine is running right? can I remove the plugs while the engine is running, or will something go wrong?

1. Pull the fues for you fuel pump.
2. start the car and let it run until it dies
3. pull all 4 plugs/wires(be sure to keep them in order)
4. connect the compression tester to cyl 1 and crank the starter(I forget how long)
5. Write down the number and reset the tester
6. Repeat 4 and 5 for 2-3-4
