D series question looking for answers please

Post by 1389evo »

Alright I have a d15b8 (no balls) and the tech at my Honda dealership said that the d15b7 has a line on the head and a line on the block to Match the head with the block and the b8 has a line on the opposite side? Curious because mine has one on both sides?? And the car has absolutly no bottom end at all and almost sounds like the transmssion is geared to high for the motor. The motor isn't the original motor that came with he car I bought it this way and the person I bought it from ( a older lady) don't know anything about the motor or install either... Maybe someone who has driven stock cx and knows the d series should come drive it??

Supposably on the d series there is a line on the head and a line on the block on both non vtec models that should line up so you know it's a b8 bottom end on a b8 head and vice versa? But mine has a line on the left side and the right side both lining up with the head and block

I have never seen any line like that on any car I have worked on. Take a top down shot of the engine, and one of the motor plate and someone will give you an idea of what you have.
