Car Problems as So....
Bad Rings
Car ran fine, except for burning of oil due to the rings when suddenly I started having loss of power. THis was last week. THen this week still continuing loss of power, I drive it on the high way and it begins to die. Car will not turn over. Fuel pump is priming, no CEL going on either. Change plugs, wires and distributor with no success. I am changing the fuel filter now.
What could be the problem???
Also could the exhaust be backing back into the engine, I have a silencer on my muffler.
Thanks in Advance

By not turn over, do you mean that the starter wont turn it, or is it not firing?

Its making a click click click noise, and I was told that if that is happening then the starter is good. Would a bad starter cause me to lose power like that?

Possibly so, because when I was driving, if I turned the lights or braked my car would stall.rickles8099;188012 wrote:check your altenator. sounds like its not charging.

Will a 99 Civic Alternator work on a 93-95 Civic?

no it wont unless you also get the obd2 alternator plug and wire it up to your but that is not worth it just get and obdo or obd1 alternator as they are the same plug and roll out. will it start if you hook jumper cable up to it? but it does sound like your alternator went bad.Jawsiiv;188016 wrote:Will a 99 Civic Alternator work on a 93-95 Civic?

Well, I gotta go to Speedway anyway tomorrow to pick up a fuel line for this ULTRA HOMO Fuel Filter that Honda installed.... cause I broke the line last year so the thing has been rigged until I needed to replace the fuel filter this time....I will get the Alternator and have it hold out, until Finish my Z6 rebuild which should be done next weekend... if all goes well... Thanks for all the info everyone....

Take off the alternator and take it to autozone, they will tell you if its good or not.

Not the alternator either. Got it tested along with the starter and the battery. All good.
