Need help, quick. Integra won't start

Post by civisi »

Shout out to all those Honda junkies out there! :wink2:

I have an Integra, 1996 with a b18a in it (was in there before I got it). I sent the head off to be cleaned and to remove a stripped out spark plug. Anyways, got the head back and hooked everything up accordingly as to how it was via my labels and cross-referenced with Chilton's manuals. Filled all fluids up and all vac and coolant lines are great. The car ran and drove before I took the head off but now it won't start up. The fuel pump starts and flows upon turn of the key and the firing order is correct. I don't know why it won't fire but it turns over and over all day long. There is no check engine light, turns on with key but turns off like normal. There is a maintance required light but that's it.

What I know:
Ran and drove before
Everything is hooked up right (fuel, spark, coolant, wiring, etc.)
All fluids are topped off and ready.
Removed head and reinstalled
Turns over and over but not wanting to actually fire

All valves were lashed properly and the timing is not off, even one tooth. I double checked this before start up. I don't know if it matters but the car has a different ecu in it, don't know what it is but it has a conversion harness as well. Everything ran, with that ecu, prior to rebuild so I don't know what the deal is. The battery has been disconnected from the car for several months but that's all I can think of as more information.

Assistance needed. I have the car so just send me ideas and I'll check them all. Thanks.

Already checked all the grounds yesterday but I'll go over them again. All the plugs, TPS and MAP are in correct order. I have spark and I have fuel but the car just cranks and cranks.

Have you checked the timing? A couple teeth off might cause it to crank but not turn over.

I am assuming it is an obd1 distributor, it came directly off of the b18a head that was already in the car.

I will swap with another working distributor today to verify its correctness.
