Occasionally when i hit vtec i get a check engine light, the car doesn't run any different and when i turn the car off and back on the light goes away and stays away until the next time i hit vtec, but not everytime i hit vtec.

Anyone have any ideas, so i can either worry about it or not worry about it.

let it throw the code and then check it. if it is obd0 then there is a light on topof the ecu that will blink the code. just count the blinks

I'm going to guess VTEC Oil pressure. but yeah, check the code

check your oil. Its probably low

also pull off the vtec solenoid and check the screen. they can collect dirt and need cleaning from time to time
