turbo honda issue

Post by solpower8 »

so i just recently turboed a d15 having some issues my kit includes a t04e turbo, 38 mm waste gate, fmu, and a walbro 190 pump which i think would be enough. starting with the turbo it was free, enough said lol so i have found the seals are bad but it still makes boost. but my real issue is first gear it boosts up and runs fine, then second it boosts up to 3 or 4 psi then falls on its face. could this be the map sensor? any help would be great thank you

I'm guessing you're running a factory ECU and injectors with that FMU, which is your problem. Ditch the shitty FMU and pick up some 450cc injectors and chip the ECU. Then talk to John or Kevin at Lowe Performance about getting a tune.

i agree fmu's are junk. when he says chip the ecu he doesnt mean go buy a chip like the junk ones on ebay. what he means is having someone chip the ecu and put a basemap on it for your boosted d15 then take it and have it tuned properly and it will work WAY better than an fmu
i may not be "logical" but at least i can change my oil...

It ran worse because your ECU thought it was still sending fuel to the smaller stock injectors. My recommendation to fix this is to go back to N/A and do more research before turbocharging your car again. It's obvious that you jumped into that project way too fast. Check out these websites for helpful info on this subject.

AFC hacks are a terrible way to manage fuel. Just do some searching on the sites mentioned above. You'll find all your answers. This stuff has been covered thousands of times.
